Quirino

Named after the country’s sixth president, Quirino is an interior province in Cagayan Valley. It used to be a part of Nueva Vizcaya before it became an independent province in 1971. It is bounded by Aurora to the southeast, Nueva Vizcaya to the west, and Isabela to the north.

Quirino has six municipalities, namely: Cabarroguis, Aglipay, Diffun, Maddela, Nagtipunan and Saguday. The capital is Cabarroguis.

The main source of livelihood in the province is agriculture. About 80 percent of the land area of the province is covered by mountains and highlands.
